PA Sports Hall of Fame

Dedicated October 18, 2006, the First Satellite Branch of the Washington/Greene County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame recognizes and remembers the athletic excellence of local residents--past and present.

The Sports Memorabilia Collection, housed at the Burgettstown Community Library, started with one donation from the Hill Family on Saturday, August 23, 2003.  Lynn Hill, nephew of the late Edwin “Dutch” Hill, presented his own Hall of Fame induction plaque to the long-time librarian Arletta Zelenko.

Three years later, on October 18, 2006, the Sports Memorabilia Collection was officially dedicated as the First Satellite Branch of the Washington/Greene County Chapter of the Pennyslvania Sports Hall of Fame.

The collection showcases the memorable events, awards and other artifacts which display the area’s exceptional tradition of athletic excellence.  Since its founding, the Satellite Branch’s memorabilia collection has grown considerably, as local residents, and athletes, as well as Hall of Fame honorees and their families, have all generously donated or loaned their memorabilia to the collection.

The First Satellite Branch of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Washington and Greene County Chapter is indebted to the kindness and generosity of librarian Arletta Zelenko, the Burgettstown Community Library Board of Trustees,  the PA Sports Hall of Fame (Joe Nicolella, President), and all the athletes and families who have contributed to our collection.
